5th Annual SERC Doctoral Students Forum and 9th Annual SERC Sponsor Research Review

Tuesday, November 7, 2017 - 1:00 pm - Wednesday, November 8, 2017 - 5:00 pm

5th Annual SERC Doctoral Students Forum (SDSF)

Technical ProgramNEW!

The SERC Doctoral Students Forum provides an opportunity for doctoral students conducting highly relevant, systems engineering-related research at any of the SERC collaborating universities to present their research in an open forum. Students can present regardless of whether or not the research was conducted through a SERC initiative. This half-day event drives high impact by exposing the attendees to research that they may not have otherwise encountered. A Best Student Paper is awarded on the basis of potential impact, advancement to systems engineering, originality, technical content, and clarity of presentation. Congratulations to last year’s winner, Eren Sakinc from Auburn University.

A networking reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres will immediately follow the event.

9th Annual SERC Sponsor Research Review (SSRR)

Technical ProgramNEW!

This one-day, sponsor-focused event unites the government, industry, and academic systems engineering research community in order to share research progress and discuss the most challenging systems engineering issues today. The review highlights over twenty ongoing SERC research projects. Researchers from the SERC universities will discuss their research, highlight results, and describe opportunities for government agencies to sponsor and/or participate in their projects. Several of these research projects are ready for pilot use and transition to practice. The program and sessions focus on the research results achieved in each of the four thematic areas of the SERC: Trusted Systems, Enterprise Systems and Systems of Systems, Human Capital Development, and Systems Engineering and Systems Management Transformation.
